Key Responsibilities:
As a Complex Care Healthcare Assistant, you will provide specialized care to patients with complex medical needs. Your responsibilities will include:
- PEG Feeding: Administering enteral nutrition via percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) tubes.
- Tracheostomy Care: Managing and caring for patients with tracheostomies, including cleaning and changing tracheostomy tubes.
- Wound Dressing: Performing wound assessments and applying appropriate dressings to promote healing.
- Medication Administration: Safely and accurately administering prescribed medications.
- Stoma Care: Providing care and support to patients with stomas, including cleaning and changing stoma bags.
Key Competencies:
To excel in this role, you will need:
- Proven experience in complex care, specifically with PEG feeding, tracheostomy care, wound dressing, medication administration, and stoma care.
- A caring and compassionate approach with a strong commitment to patient-centered care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- A valid healthcare qualification and relevant certifications.
- A flexible approach to work, with the ability to cover various shifts as required.
