Robert Half are pleased to recruit for an Assistant Accountant based in Milton Keynes for a family-owned company which is one of UK's leading distributors.
Reporting to the Financial Accounting Team Leader, you will be a part of the Financial Accounting team providing reporting, analysis and statutory reporting for the UK based businesses, holding companies and European subsidiaries.
We are looking for someone with an eye for detail, a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, including intermediate excel and the ability to interact with internal and external associates with ease.
Responsibilities:
- Bank reconciliations.
- Payroll processing and preparation, along with other payroll related costs f
- Month end processes - Payroll control account reconciliations and Payroll related Accruals & Prepayments.
- Headcount reporting and maintaining data to assist with budget and forecast.
- VAT related tasks for the respective entities.
- Assist with annual Audit requirements for respective entities
Requirements
- AAT level 4 (required)
- 3-5 year's experience in a similar role (payroll and accounting)
- A considered approach to problem solving is an important role requirement.
- An ability to meet deadlines with accuracy and motivation is necessary.
- Being well organised and reliable will be important factors in being successful in this role.
- A thorough detailed and disciplined style is vital with the ability to evaluate logical and detailed data.
- Adaptability to new challenges and changes.
- Good standard of education, GCSE English and Maths particularly A-C grade (or equivalent).
- Flexibility to working hours at peak time such as payroll or month end.
