Residential Childcare Worker - Oldham
Are you a passionate, dedicated Residential Childcare Worker looking for your next role? 4Recruitment Services are recruiting a Residential Childcare Worker to support the most vulnerable children and families, ensuring the children are safeguarded and managed in an individual bespoke way.
Duration: 3 months initially
Hours: Rota basis including days, nights, evenings and weekends – Office based
Residential Childcare Worker role: Full JD Available
- Direct work with children, young people, and families
- Provide practical help, advice and guidance on issues affecting family, relationship and functioning, whilst subject to being in the care of the Local Authority
- Support the children with day to day living and supporting them with independence tasks enabling them to prepare for adult life
- Support the children and young people with their behaviour and provide emotional suppoprt
- Provide a caring a nurturing environment for the children and young people
- Contribute to, implement, and review individual care plans for children and young people, in partnership with parents, carers, social workers and other agencies
- Develop and review risk assessments and ensure actions are followed
- Develop a knowledge and understanding of resources which are available to meet the needs of the child and family, e.g., local children's centres, family activities, leisure facilities, support groups for child/family, support of health-related issues such as sexual health or drugs
- Attend child protection conferences, Looked After Children (LAC) statutory reviews, multi-agency meetings and the children's education and health reviews
Essential Requirements
- UK Driving Licence, access to a vehicle, business insurance
- Relevant Level 3 qualification
- Experience of working with young people in a social work/ youth work or other setting
- Ability to engage with children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Enhanced Child DBS registered to the update service
