Assistant Buyer

We are currently seeking an Assistant Buyer to join our clients' dynamic purchasing team in Weybridge. The ideal candidate will support the buying process, assist with product selection, vendor management, and market research to ensure our product offerings meet the highest standards of quality, price, and delivery.
Day to Day of the Role:
- Assist the Senior Buyer with the development and execution of purchasing strategies.
- Conduct market research to identify trends and source new products that align with business objectives.
- Support the negotiation process with suppliers to secure competitive prices and terms.
- Help manage vendor relationships, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with contracts.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with forecasting demand to ensure optimal stock levels.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and logistics, to ensure product availability and successful product launches.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other important data.
- Prepare reports and updates for the Senior Buyer and other stakeholders.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a buying or assistant buying role, preferably within the relevant industry.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret market data.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and experience with purchasing software.
- A keen eye for detail and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to make informed decisions quickly.
- A degree in business, finance, fashion merchandising, or a related field is advantageous.
