Payroll Assistant

Join an independent medium-sized Chartered Accountancy practice located in Glasgow City Centre. Our client are dedicated to providing excellent client service by developing strong relationships and thoroughly understanding their clients' businesses. Due to growth in the client portfolio, they are seeking a Payroll Assistant to join the team on a part-time basis.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Process a portfolio of payrolls within a payroll bureau environment, working independently and alongside the Payroll Manager.
- Handle end-to-end payroll processing with varied pay frequencies including Weekly, Monthly, Fortnightly, and 4 Weekly.
- Calculate ad hoc changes accurately, including statutory payments.
- Administer auto-enrolment duties and upload pension contributions to various pension providers.
- Manage client and employee queries efficiently.
- Process starters and leavers, and onboard new clients.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience working within a payroll bureau environment, managing multiple payrolls.
- Ability to work to strict processing deadlines.
- Strong client relationship management skills.
- Knowledge of CIS tax deductions and submissions to HMRC.
- Proficient understanding of all payroll deadlines and requirements.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
