Think Accountancy and Finance are proud to be working with a long-term client who is seeking an experienced Finance Manager.

Ideally they are seeking someone who can start on short notice and are considering temporary to permanent recruitment.

The role will be based in West Drayton with in-office attendance required Monday to Friday.

The position does require someone who has experience as a Head of Finance in an SME business with a Turnover of around £15-20million.

It is essential that you live within close proximity to West Drayton as this role is fully office based.

Job Overview:

Our client is seeking an experienced Head of Finance to lead the accounts team of two others for a group of companies operating in the construction sector. The successful candidate will be a key player in achieving the company owner's ambitious goals for the group in the coming years. Previous experience in the construction sector is highly desirable for this role. As the Head of Finance, you will bring your expertise to oversee the finance department's day-to-day operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, timely billing and collections, and conducting thorough financial analysis. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing business, which will also see the successful candidate oversee the growth of the finance team.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the finance department, ensuring accurate financial reporting, timely billing, and collections, as well as thorough financial analysis.
  • Prepare, manage, and report on the company's budget and forecasts, ensuring that financial targets are met.
  • Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Manage the company's cash flow, including the invoice discounting facility, to ensure that cash is available for operational needs.
  • Administer and manage the company's credit insurance policy.
  • Monitor and manage the company's financial risk, including interest rate risk and foreign exchange risk.
  • Ensure that all financial statements, tax returns, and other financial documents are accurate and submitted on time.
  • Manage HMRC submissions for PAYE and VAT.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, banks, and other financial institutions.
  • Provide financial guidance and support to the management team to ensure sound financial decision-making.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; ACA, ACCA, or CIMA certification is highly desirable.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a senior financial management role, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills, including experience managing an invoice discounting facility.
  • Experience administering and managing credit insurance policies.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments and stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and financial software systems.
