Our client are looking to appoint a 2nd Line IT Support Engineer to join a team of Engineers who specialise in providing technical troubleshooting for a large client base. The ideal candidate must have MSP Experience.
Duties of the 2nd Line Support Engineer
- Guide clients step-by-step, either in person or over the phone, to help them set up systems or resolve technical issues.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot system and network problems, addressing hardware or software faults and replacing components as needed.
- Provide support by creating documentation and generating relevant reports.
- Possess experience in Microsoft 365 administration and troubleshooting.
- Assist with the deployment of new applications.
- Handle escalations from 1st Line Support IT Technicians.
- This role is dynamic, with each day offering new challenges.
Desirable Skills and Attributes
- Experience working with Managed Service Providers (MSPs)
- Prior experience in Helpdesk or IT support, including telephone and remote support
- Holding professional certifications in Microsoft 365 or Azure, or actively working towards them
- Familiarity with firewall and network security technologies
- Proficiency with Hyper-V, VMware, SAN, and NAS
- Experience in Microsoft 365 administration and migrations
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking, with hands-on experience in routing, VLAN, VPN, and wireless technologies
- Experience with VOIP telephony systems
- Skilled in automation and scripting using PowerShell
- A proactive, hands-on team player with a strong willingness to learn
- Flexible and adaptable, with a readiness to work away from the office or during non-standard hours to meet business needs
- Experience in cyber security and knowledge of Cyber Essentials certification protocols
