(moving to a 4 on 4 off Days & Nights pattern in 2025)

Hourly Rate: Days - £18.74 PAYE / £23.77 Umbrella

Nights - £24.92 PAYE / £31.83 Umbrella

Saturday - £28.11 PAYE /£35.99 Umbrella (All hours

Sunday - £37.48 PAYE /£48.20 Umbrella (All hours)

Hours Per Week: 44 Hours per week minimum

Duration: 30 Months minimum

Company Summary

Europes largest Rolling Stock Producer, maintainer and servicing organisation is looking for Mechanical and Electrical Experienced Engineers to join a well established team at a busy rail depot in East London

Position Summary:

The role is carrying out Welding work on a fleet of EMU Rolling Stock units. You will be specifically focused on MIG Welding work on mild steel of various thickness as part of a corrosion project. This position is the key focal point for the safe and reliable running of the fleet and is a key requirement against the Service Agreement (SA). This is a safety Critical position working on a busy live rail maintenance depot and in this role you would be expected to complete the following:

  • Work from written instruction and Engineering drawings, working to specific measurements
  • Weld preparation
  • Welding to BS EN ISO 9060-1:2017 specifications

Person Profile:

You will be a highly self-motivated individual with welding experience. MIG welding experience on mild steel is preferred however all welding experience will be considered. Previous coding's desired, however not a requirement as you will be re-coded as part of this role.

  • Must be proficient in MIG & MAG welding on Mild Steel
  • Must be able to weld 1.5mm - 12mm Mild Steel

Ideal candidates will have experience in the following industries;

  • Maintenance, Corrosion of repair Vehicles, Plant or Platforms
