The company works with suppliers across the globe manufacturing a diverse range of products and provides them with a cost efficient and effective route to market for their products into the highly fragmented customer base.

The company provides quality, choice and availability to Retailers, Merchants, Contractors and Specifiers across the UK.

About the role

We are looking recruit a Sales Director to identify and deliver sales growth in Scotland through Area Sales Managers and Sales Office colleagues.

This role will have direct line management responsibility for a team of Area Sales Managers and the Sales Office Manager in Scotland. The role holder will also work closely with our centralised Operations, Buying, Finance, HR and Marketing teams to ensure that their team receives the service required to delivery our service promise to our customers. A key objective for this role is going to be engaging, leading and motivating a customer focused sales team to drives sales, increase share, and improve margins through our own product brands.

The role holder will form part of the Independent Retailer leadership team and will be a key part of developing strategies and plans with peers across our territories to increase sales, win market share and improve customer satisfaction across our territories.

This role is critical to the sustainable growth and ultimate success of the business within the next decade and key points are;

Main Duties and Tasks

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to increase market share
  • Identify and target new business opportunities
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and partners
  • Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activity
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the company's strategy and priorities to ensure that the team's plans help to deliver the overall strategy
  • Monitor sales and margin metrics and adjust strategies as necessary to achieve objectives
  • Runs an efficient business that controls cost and meets budget
  • Monitor financial performance and implement cost control measures, whilst analysing financial reports, making decisions based on data
  • Is passionate about customer experience, proactively seeking feedback and insights to continuously improve
  • Builds and maintains great customer and supplier relationships

Key Skills/Experience Required:

The Ideal candidate will currently be a General Manager within the DIY, Building Products, Commercial Interiors sector who has experience in managing an External and internal sales team and can demonstrate a record of success of delivering a strategic Sales and Marketing plan within an organisation.

You should also be able to demonstrate strong business acumen and strategic thinking and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Remuneration:

Basic upto £120K, Good Bonus, Great Benefits, Quality Car.
