Job Title: Autism Support Worker

Location: Fife

Salary: £15 per hour

Contract type: Full time hours

I am currently seeking a dedicated Autism Support Worker to assist one of my clients and make a difference in the lives of those we support.

Responsibilities:

Personalised Support: Provide one-on-one and group support tailored to the unique needs and preferences of individuals with autism. Assist with daily living skills, social interactions, communication, and behavioural support.

Monitoring and Documentation: Keep detailed and accurate records of clients' progress, behaviours, and support provided. Regularly update support plans based on ongoing assessments and feedback from clients and the team.

Crisis Management: Respond effectively to challenging behaviours and crisis situations, using de-escalation techniques and following established safety protocols.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Previous experience working with individuals with autism or in a similar support role is highly desirable.
  • Certifications: A valid PVG check, first aid certification, and any other relevant certifications are required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a non-judgmental approach.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of autism spectrum disorders and evidence-based support strategies.
  • Crisis management and de-escalation skills.
