Bury Council is currently seeking a qualified Environmental Health Officer or similar professional to conduct risk assessments and associated sampling for private water supplies. This role is crucial for ensuring compliance with The Private Water Supplies (England) Regulations 2016 as amended, and requires adherence to European standard EN 15975-2 for risk management.

Day to Day of the Role:

  • Carry out five-yearly risk assessments for 12 x Regulation 10 and 5 x Regulation 9 private water supplies.
  • Perform associated water sampling in line with the required standards and regulations.
  • Ensure all activities comply with The Private Water Supplies (England) Regulations 2016 and European standard EN 15975-2.
  • Potentially conduct enforcement work following the risk assessment and sampling, depending on the outcomes.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Significant recent working experience in Private Water Supply regulation.
  • Expertise in conducting risk assessments and water sampling in accordance with relevant regulations and European standards.
  • Ability to carry out enforcement work related to private water supply regulations if necessary.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to public health and safety.
