  • Location: Hillingdon
  • Contract: Temporary (3rd June to 24th July)
  • Job Role: Full time (Monday - Friday 8:30am-4pm)

We are seeking a dedicated SEN English Teacher to join a supportive school, teaching secondary aged pupils with special needs.

The school provides a person-centred curriculum, adapted to each child and young person's developmental and learning needs, offering a variety of educational programs designed to meet the needs of students with severe to complex learning needs, Autism, communication and sensory processing difficulties, and associated behaviours.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Deliver high-quality literacy/English lessons to students with a range of special educational needs.
  • Delivering tailored education plans to pupils with autism pupils with complex needs (ASD).
  • Creating a supportive and engaging learning environment that meets the individual needs of each pupil.
  • Collaborating with other staff members to plan and coordinate lessons
  • Assessing and recording pupils' progress and adapting teaching methods to suit their needs.
  • Communicating effectively with parents, carers, and other professionals regarding pupil development and wellbeing.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Proven experience teaching English to secondary aged pupils.
  • A current DBS on the update service.
  • Strong understanding of the SEN curriculum and effective teaching strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage a classroom effectively and maintain discipline.
  • Patience, empathy, and a dedication to making a difference in the lives of students with SEN.
