Our client is a small to medium sized property and land investment business. Their core expertise lies in adding value by achieving planning permission for development. Due to the growth in their business, they are looking to hire an assistant management accountant to help our finance function. Reporting into the Head of Finance, you will be working within a team of three people in finance. This is a very operational position where you will be required to be hands on with the book-keeping as well as the higher level month end duties. This will provide more opportunities to learn and the ability to have wider view and in-depth knowledge of the business. This role will also provide an exposure to varied and complex accounting environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing information for management accounts and year end accounts
- Assist in preparing information for Monthly cash flows
- Quarterly VAT returns
- Review purchase ledger postings/coding done by Accounts assistant
- Sales Ledger - invoicing, recovery, reconciliation
- Rental income - Reconciling and posting rent and service charge from managing agents reports
- Bank reconciliation
- Bank payments
- Bookkeeping - all postings, including journals updated on a monthly basis
- Intercompany balances reconciliation
- Assist the line manager as and when required
- Any other tasks as may be required based on the ability of the person and the needs of the business
Candidate
- Part or fully qualified ACCA or AAT or qualified by experience
- Practice background will be an advantage
- Some experience in accounts preparation is essential.
- Clear understanding of basic accounting concepts and their application
- Experience in Purchase ledger and general bookkeeping/VAT is essential
- Proficient with Excel skills
- Ability to work with tight deadlines and highly organized
- Open and positive attitude
Remuneration
- Salary - Between 35K to 45k (negotiable depending on experience)
