Procurement Manager

What you'll be doing:

As the Procurement Manager you will be responsible for providing dedicated Procurement expertise to the Change Programme within People's Partnership. This will include ensuring effective procurement support in the management of third party spend across multiple projects predominantly IT related but including other categories as required.

  • Developing procurement solutions for multiple change projects in conjunction with the business that deliver strategies of cost reduction, improved service and growth where required
  • Significantly contribute to the annual savings target through delivery of commercially robust contracts, ensuring the department supports the business to identify and reduce budgeted third-party supplier spend year on year and feed expected business efficiencies into the overall Procurement performance metrics
  • Accurately capture and report achieved savings in line with the agreed methodologies in a timely manner to support the wider Team MI
  • Develop and execute supplier strategies aligned with the business and functional objectives and targets
  • Establish and maintain strong business relationships across People's Partnership, to ensure that procurement can partner with the relevant service owners to select and manage the right suppliers to meet their needs

What we're looking for:

  • Experienced in multiple category procurement activities, with an emphasis on IT and related sub categories: Software, Hardware, IT Services (Development/Test, Support) and Networks.
  • Experience in managing, reporting-on and controlling usage-based cost of service contracts
  • Evidence of delivering cost reductions through a broad range of strategies i.e. contract re-negotiation, demand management spend consolidation, supplier reduction etc
  • Good application of procurement methodologies, with evidence of running projects through the full procurement life cycle
  • Detailed understanding of procurement processes and systems
