Electrical Fitter, Team Leader

Join our forward-thinking client, where we are dedicated to excellence in electrical engineering and production. We are looking for a skilled Electrical Fitter, Team Leader to work closely with our Production Manager in driving innovation and efficiency in our processes.

As the Electrical Fitter, Team Leader, you will collaborate with the Production Manager to demonstrate exceptional electrical engineering skills, address design and production challenges, and lead a dedicated team to achieve production goals. Your role will encompass overseeing health and safety, maintaining quality standards, and managing various electrical components and systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engineering Support: Assist in resolving design and production problems using strong electrical fitter skills.
  • Health & Safety: Oversee departmental health and safety (H&S) needs, including daily checks, promoting good housekeeping, COSHH compliance, and monthly inspections.
  • Quality Assurance: Maintain and enforce quality standards within the department.
  • Electrical Work: Handle electrical panel work, layout, trunking, and components such as Servo Drives, PSUs, Safety Systems, cable management, wiring, and HMI terminating.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and motivate teams to meet production deliverables and direct focus towards achieving set goals.
  • Problem Solving: Participate in work activities, solving operational issues as they arise.
  • Continuous Improvement: Focus on creating efficiencies and implementing projects to enhance processes.
  • Production Management: Supervise daily activities, support the Production Manager, and cover tasks in their absence.
  • Panel Builds: Oversee the construction and wiring of panels and complete machine wiring.
  • Mentorship: Educate and mentor team members, including apprentices and new starters, on processes, procedures, and quality standards.
  • Team Collaboration: Foster a collaborative and teamwork-oriented environment.
  • Quality Expectations: Set high standards and work to upskill team members.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor consumable stock levels and request purchases as needed.
  • Strategic Communication: Work closely with the Production Manager, providing updates on successes, issues, concerns, and opportunities through verbal or written reports.

Qualifications:

  • Apprenticeship trained, OR
  • City & Guilds, OR
  • ONC, OR
  • Trade qualification, OR
  • NVQ Level 2 skilled specific
