£30,000 - £35,000 (dependent on general experience and industry knowledge).

My Civil Engineering & Highway Maintenance client, is currently seeking a
Buyer
to join them on an initial 12 month FT Contract basis at their office in Watford!
The
Buyer
is responsible for processing procurement transactions accurately and on a timely basis. The team oversees the strategic side of developing and purchasing assets and services within the company. You will also support with the process of purchase orders on our inhouse procurement system.
The interview process will require only 2 TEAMS interviews, with an offer shortly after. My client is hoping for someone to start August 2024
OR
1st/2nd week of September 2024 latest.
Buyer Responsibilities:
- Provide cost savings and cost avoidance strategies.
- Assist Procurement Manager in the production of Procurement statistics
- Extract and report off of the purchasing system
- Process Purchase orders accurately, on a timely basis, and in accordance with company policy.
- Review Purchase order requisitions to ensure best value for money and in accordance with company policy.
- Ensure order specification is correctly understood before raising orders.
- Liaise with yard staff to ensure a free flow of information about expected goods receipts.
Buyer Key Skills and Experience:
- Driving license and access to a vehicle ESSENTIAL
- MCIPS or equivalent membership / certificates in purchasing DESIRABLE
- Minimum of 3+ years purchasing experience.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and experience.
- Experience of using Purchase Order software.
