Credit Controller

As a Credit Controller, you will be an integral part of our client's finance team, responsible for managing the credit control process to ensure timely collection of outstanding balances and minimising financial risk. You will work closely with clients to resolve any queries and maintain positive relationships. This role requires a proactive individual with strong analytical skills and a solid background in financial services.

Job Title: Credit Controller

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum

Location: Bracknell, hybrid working

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and monitor outstanding debts to ensure timely collection and minimise overdue balances.
  • Conduct regular reviews of client accounts to assess credit limits and payment terms.
  • Liaise with clients to resolve payment issues and negotiate repayment plans when necessary.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate and up-to-date customer account information.
  • Prepare and distribute statements, reminders, and other relevant communications to clients.
  • Maintain accurate records of all credit control activities and communications.
  • Analyse credit data and financial statements to assess the creditworthiness of clients.
  • Provide regular reports and updates to management on the status of outstanding debts and potential risks.
  • Develop and implement effective credit control policies and procedures.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and regulatory changes that may impact credit control activities.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Credit Controller, ideally within the financial services or asset leasing industry.
  • Strong understanding of manual credit control principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to analyse financial data and make informed decisions.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
