Are you a strategic leader with a passion for optimizing logistics and fleet operations? We're seeking a Head of Logistics to drive excellence in fleet management, compliance, logistics performance, and contract management.
You'll be based anywhere in the Midlands area, with the flexibility to commute to our headquarters in Warwick as needed. While we don't expect you to be on-site full-time, we believe in the power of collaboration and relationship-building, so regular visits will be key to leading effectively and staying connected with our team. For added convenience, a company car will be provided.
This role is crucial in supporting our support services and offers the opportunity to make a significant impact by enhancing operational efficiency and ensuring regulatory compliance.
The areas of responsibilities:
Fleet Maintenance
- Create comprehensive fleet maintenance strategies to ensure vehicle reliability, safety, and efficiency.
- Ensure sufficient vehicle range and resources are available to meet customer commitments through planned maintenance, vehicle design, or purchase/divestiture.
- Establish maintenance goals, budgets, and plans aligned with business objectives.
- Manage preventive maintenance, repairs, and inspections to minimize downtime and extend fleet lifespan.
- Manage relationships with external service providers, parts suppliers, and vendors for quality and cost-effective maintenance services.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure favourable terms and reliable supply of parts and services.
- Develop and manage the fleet maintenance budget, ensuring cost control and resource optimization.
- Monitor and report on KPIs to assess and improve fleet maintenance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Stay updated on industry trends and innovations to integrate new technologies and practices.
- Ensure high levels of service and satisfaction for internal and external customers relying on fleet vehicles.
Fleet Compliance
- Develop and implement strategies to ensure fleet operations adhere to all regulations.
- Monitor regulatory changes and update compliance programs to align with new laws and standards.
- Ensure all fleet activities comply with established policies and legal requirements.
- Ensure timely servicing of vehicles in line with manufacturer guidelines and best practices.
- Develop strategies to minimize regulatory risks and maintain continuous compliance.
- Lead strategies for audit, inspection management, and compliance training programs.
- Act as a liaison with regulatory bodies and external auditors to facilitate compliance and address changes.
- Develop and monitor KPIs related to fleet compliance and safety.
- Prepare detailed reports on compliance performance, highlighting issues and recommending improvements.
- Promote a culture of compliance excellence and continuous improvement.
- Develop initiatives to enhance the sustainability of fleet operations.
Logistics Performance & Contract Management
- Develop and implement logistics performance strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Establish logistics performance goals, budgets, and operational plans to drive supply chain efficiency.
- Lead the development and analysis of KPIs to measure logistics efficiency, effectiveness, and customer service.
- Utilize data analytics to monitor performance, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
- Develop and manage the logistics performance budget, ensuring cost control and resource optimization.
- Work with procurement, sales, finance, and IT to align logistics performance with business goals.
- Identify and implement process improvements and best practices to enhance logistics performance.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, provide training, and ensure the team has the necessary skills and resources.
About you:
- Full UK driving license required.
- Proven experience in fleet management and compliance at a senior level, with a track record of optimizing operational efficiency and reducing costs.
- Strong knowledge of transport regulations, ADR legislation, and fleet compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to lead logistics performance improvements and manage complex budgets.
- Excellent leadership skills with experience in managing multi-location teams and driving a culture of continuous improvement.
- Proficiency in data analytics to monitor and enhance logistics performance.
