Job Title: Town Planner

Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting an experienced Town Planner or Planning Manager to join a successful and growing Land and Planning Team in the West of Scotland. What You will Be Doing:
You will be part of a small but busy team handling a variety of planning applications, from large-scale developments to smaller, complex projects. This role offers broad exposure across all areas of the planning process-from planning policy and development management to site delivery-allowing you to take ownership and lead on significant projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce planning assessments for new site appraisals
- Lead planning applications from Outline/Full to Reserved Matters and discharge planning conditions
- Oversee master planning and collaborate with layout designers, engineers, and consultants
- Prepare planning statements and various technical documents to support applications
- Organise and attend stakeholder/public consultations
- Provide responses to emerging local and national planning policy
- Support senior management with business decisions and represent planning expertise in meetings
- Mentor and train junior team members
What We Need from You:
- Previous experience in development management or development planning (Local Authority, Planning Consultancy, or Housebuilder/Developer)
- Degree or Master's in Planning with RTPI accreditation
- Strong communication skills and ability to work under pressure
- Proactive, with a willingness to lead on your own initiative
- Full UK driving licence
