About the opportunity... Poundland is seeking an IT Project Manager to join our team in Walsall. Reporting into the Portfolio Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving the successful delivery of a variety of technology-related projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. As the key liaison between business stakeholders, IT, and third-party suppliers, you will lead the end-to-end management of projects, contributing directly to our business goals and strategy.

Hybrid working, 2-3 days onsite per week.

Your Impact and Responsibilities... As an IT Project Manager at Poundland, your role will be crucial in aligning technology initiatives with our business objectives. You will:

  • Lead and Deliver: Manage and deliver a diverse range of IT projects from inception through to completion, adhering to our IT Delivery Framework.
  • Stakeholder Management: Act as the main link between key business stakeholders, IT, and third-party suppliers, ensuring clear and consistent communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Scope Control: Define, confirm, and control project scope, ensuring that all stakeholders are aligned on objectives and deliverables.
  • Continuous Improvement: Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the project teams, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in project delivery.
  • Senior Stakeholder Engagement: Engage and manage senior stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress, challenges, and required support.
  • Third-Party Management: Oversee the performance of third-party suppliers, ensuring their deliverables align with project goals and timelines.
  • PMO Contribution: Contribute to the ongoing development of the IT Project Management Office (PMO) by sharing insights, improving processes, and mentoring colleagues.. Skills and Knowledge Required... .• Project Management Expertise: Extensive experience in delivering technology-led projects in retail or similar fast-paced environments, with a strong understanding of industry-standard project management methodologies and frameworks.
  • Stakeholder Management: Proven ability to manage a wide range of stakeholders, in challenging and demanding environments.
  • Technical Acumen: Strong understanding of the complexities of technology in relation to business needs, with experience across the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated experience in leading cross-functional teams, driving projects to successful completion, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to think critically and make informed decisions, balancing time, quality, and cost constraints.
  • Resilience and Focus: A resilient personality with a proactive approach, capable of overcoming people, process, and technology-related challenges.
