Finance manager - Pharmacy Transformation

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our pharmacy finance team, supporting the critical transformation of our Pharmacy business.

Pharmacy is one of the largest, most challenging and interesting areas of the Boots business. It has been at the heart of our business for our 175-year history and we're currently engaged in an extensive transformation of it's operating model to this programme will ensure it is part of our future for many years to come.

You will support our Pharmacy Growth Transformation, reporting to the Director of Finance, Healthcare, and will sit within the Healthcare Finance business partnering team.

You will work closely with the programme leadership team, as well as the teams supporting individual initiatives within the wider programme. You'll also work closely with the wider Commercial finance Business Partnering team and our FP&A and Financial Control teams.

Key responsibilities:

  • Finance business partner to the Pharmacy Growth Transformation programme
  • Support the programme team in understanding performance, to inform commercial decisions
  • Ensure robust decision making, bringing commercial challenge and insight
  • Drive the programme to set robust targets and KPIs aligned to programme objectives
  • Support programme reporting – ensuring clear messaging to senior stakeholders
  • Own the total programme view of all activities.
  • Scenario modelling to support strategic decision making, sequencing and planning of activities
  • Review and approval of business cases and business investment
  • Support in investment appraisals, providing the overview of the interplay between different, related elements of the programme
  • Hold the teams to account for delivering their commitments

What you'll need to have

  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent)
  • Experience as a Finance Manager with strong commercial awareness
  • Ability to think strategically, review, and use analytical skills to understand and the bigger picture whilst having good attention to detail
  • Financial modelling experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to hold business partners to account.
  • Highly analytical and technical, with experience in reporting and reviewing the quality and accuracy of data
  • Excellent excel and SAP BW skills

It would be great if you also have

  • Knowledge of Healthcare and TM1 reporting and Power BI
  • Previous experience working in a business partnering role
