SEMH Teaching Assistant

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the planning, preparation, and delivery of engaging lessons that cater to the individual needs of students with SEMH and EBSA.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies to promote positive behaviour and a conducive learning environment.
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to support each student's academic and personal development.
  • Demonstrate patience and understanding in challenging situations, managing behaviours such as aggression, withdrawal, or anxiety.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working with students with SEMH and EBSA.
  • Strong understanding of de-escalation and calming techniques.
  • A proactive and caring attitude.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
