Charity People are excited to be recruiting a new Senior Database Officer to join a wonderful cause, and supportive team for an environmental focused charity based in London.

The Senior Database Officer role is a crucial position within the Fundraising team, ensuring the smooth running of gift processing within the department, and managing the fundraising database efficiently and effectively. This is a standalone role, reporting to the Head of Fundraising, and working alongside the Individual Giving Officer and Supporter Services Officer. The ideal candidate will naturally be a self-starter, with lots of initiative and bring a positive attitude.

Role responsibilities:

  • Ensuring the database is being used effectively and in compliance with data protection and GDPR
  • Development of best practice and training to all other users
  • Regular reporting on results from the database
  • Ensuring monthly reconciliation of database with SAGE
  • Using briefs provided by the Senior Individual Giving Officer and Individual Giving Officer, select data for appeals, and appeal emails
  • Managing data received from acquisition activity, including lead generation, cash, regular gift and new weekly lottery players and add them to the supporter database
  • Submitting Gift Aid claims quarterly to HMRC
  • Producing JustGiving, Paypal and other online income reports for Finance
  • Producing regular campaign reports

You will bring:

  • Previous experience of working with a supporter database or CRM (Access Charity CRM would be an advantage but not essential)
  • Strong analytical and Excel skills
  • Experience of selecting and importing supporter data through bulk imports and exports
  • Fully proficient in Microsoft SharePoint and Office 365
  • Solid knowledge of Charity Law, particularly HMRC and Gift Aid legislation

Working in a small charity, this is a brilliant opportunity to take charge of the data, and drive this role forward, building on your skill set. There will be a week's handover with the current postholder. The role closes on the 12th November, with interviews on the 19th, with the view of starting this temporary role week commencing the 25th November for a handover. Please apply without delay.
