Our client is a market leader in the design, manufacture, supply and installation of electrical distribution equipment and systems, based in Spilsby, Lincolnshire.

Formed in 1982, the company focuses primarily on supplying the leisure industry with particular focus on holiday parks and marinas. Their route to market is via directly employed staff and a network of agents throughout the world.

Due to continued expansion, they are looking for suitably qualified and motivated people to join the team to fill the following full-time position.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified electrician with ‘hands-on' experience in the commercial environment, particularly the Leisure (Holiday Park), Marina and Secondary LV distribution sectors. Previous experience in these industry areas would be advantageous but not essential.

This position would suit somebody who would relish the opportunity to move into a planning, estimating and project management role.

The position involves extensive travel throughout the UK visiting customers and prospective customers to deliver technical presentations, explaining products and services.

You will carry out site surveys, prepare electrical designs and quotations.

You will be a highly motivated individual who is adaptable and reliable.

You should be confident of working under your own supervision as well as being a member of a team and can demonstrate the practical and theoretical standards required of the role.

Key tasks & responsibilities:

  • First point of contact for installation enquiries.
  • Undertaking site surveys at customer locations.
  • Preparation of electrical design and calculus from information gained from surveys.
  • Creating electrical designs using ElectricalOM Software
  • Preparation of estimates and quotations.
  • Liaising with customers regarding proposals and negotiating a satisfactory securing of business
  • Ensuring an efficient and effective execution of projects according to the safety; quality, and environmental standards in force, aiming for maximum client satisfaction and maximum results.
  • In this role you are responsible for the 'A to Z' in project management.
  • Preparation of projects to include: project planning, providing necessary documents & permits, supply & removal of equipment, arranging vehicles, personnel and materials plus the organisation of pre-contract and subsequent meetings.
  • Being the main point of contact for the client during the projects.
  • Supervising the Site Operatives and indirectly other personnel on site

The person:

  • PC Literate with experience of MS office
  • Basic understanding and use of Auto Cad, not essential as training available.
  • Knowledge of Trimble (Amtech) electrical design tools advantageous but not essential as training would be given. Creating electrical designs using ElectricalOM Software
  • IOSH training would be advantageous but not essential as training would be given
  • Hold a Full UK Driving licence
  • You must be able to prioritise and work efficiently to deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Working safely with an integral belief in the merits of a safe working environment
  • Customer relationship / commercial and communicative talents
  • Understanding of the technical and operational challenges of the leisure, marine and secondary distribution industry
  • Action and result-orientated
  • Organised
