Job Title: Design Office Team Leader

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum

Responsibilities:
Our client, a leading engineering organisation, is seeking a Design Office Team Leader to join their team in Hull. As the Design Office Team Leader, you will play a crucial role in providing technical support and guidance across all departments. You will be responsible for motivating and developing the team, ensuring the highest standards of work output and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the main point of contact for technical information, facilitating clear communication channels between departments.
- Motivate and support the team in developing best practises, both individually and departmentally.
- Prioritise and distribute workload in the absence of the Senior Management.
- Provide technical guidance to the Sales Teams for quotation purposes, ensuring accurate and relevant information is included.
- Liaise with clients regarding technical inquiries and project updates, conducting site meetings and surveys.
- Ensure all work output meets the required quality and standards.
- Support new product development to meet evolving industry requirements.
- Produce approval drawings, provide support for equipment assembly, issue bill of materials, and document design calculations.
- Liaise with subcontractors for manufacturing support.
- Handle customer correspondence related to design and manufacture.
- Prepare equipment manuals and technical files for CE marking.
- Maintain an up-to-date project schedule.
- Undertake any other duties relevant to the position.
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Engineering experience with a strong understanding of technical drawings.
- Proficiency in Solidworks, CAD, and PDM is desirable.
- Demonstrated experience in motivating and supporting a team.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise work effectively.
- Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to finding solutions.
- Strong communication skills to foster positive working relationships.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- A positive attitude towards mentoring and collaborative work.
Remuneration for this role ranges from £40,000 to £45,000 per annum. In addition to an attractive salary, our client offers the following benefits:
- Monday to Thursday working hours of 08:00-16:30 and Friday hours of 08:00-13:30.
