My client are seeking a self-motivated and methodical Purchasing Administrator with a keen interest in procurement and a desire to learn. The successful candidate will work closely with departmental managers and directors, supporting them with procurement-related tasks for various construction and internal projects.
Day to Day of the Role:
- Procure materials, supplies and equipment as required.
- Update and maintain the supplier list, research new suppliers and build relationships.
- Assist managers in securing the best purchasing terms and prices.
- Verify deliveries, sign off delivery notes and maintain a digital record of receipts.
- Coordinate and arrange deliveries, including managing logistics for our own loam delivery.
- Raise purchase orders (POs) and liaise with the accounts department to ensure accurate logging.
- Perform general administrative tasks, including filing, scanning, data entry and drafting process documents.
- Provide phone cover for reception during busy periods or staff absences.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Some knowledge of the construction industry or basic construction buying experience is preferable.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar administrative role.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly MS Excel and Outlook.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Must be a car driver due to the office location with no public transport.
