Role Overview:
A key opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled and experienced Enforcement Manager to lead the compliance and enforcement functions within a busy Building Control team. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that building regulations and safety standards are adhered to, overseeing operations that include issuing compliance and stop notices, managing dangerous structures, and leading an expert team in delivering a 24/7 response service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compliance Oversight: Oversee the management and enforcement of compliance and stop notices, ensuring alignment with building regulations.
  • Dangerous Structures Management: Lead the response to dangerous structures, coordinating reports, managing contracts, and directing the 24/7 team dedicated to this critical area.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and guide a team of Building Control specialists, ensuring the highest standards in service delivery and regulatory compliance.
  • Legal Enforcement: Ensure that all enforcement actions comply with relevant legislation, including Building Regulations and the London Building Acts.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • In-depth Knowledge: A comprehensive understanding of Building Regulations and the London Building Acts.
  • Professional Licensing: Registered to Class 3 with the Building Safety Regulator.
  • Team Management: Demonstrable experience leading and managing a professional team within a Building Control environment.
  • Legal Expertise: Strong familiarity with legal processes related to Building Control and enforcement.
  • Crisis Management: Proven experience handling dangerous structures and leading emergency response initiatives.

Key Screening Criteria:

  • Expertise in Building Regulations and the London Building Acts.
  • Class 3 registration with the Building Safety Regulator.
  • Experience responding to dangerous structures and involvement in related teams.
  • Strong background in managing Building Control professionals.
  • Knowledge of legal enforcement processes within Building Control.
