Are you a proactive, people-focused leader with a passion for hospitality, facilities, and operational excellence? We're looking for an Estate Manager to take the reins of a busy, multifaceted estate that includes accommodation, catering, events, and property management.

About the Role:

This is a hands-on, varied, and challenging role where no two days are the same. You'll be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the estate, ensuring high standards across housekeeping, catering, maintenance, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support a diverse team including housekeepers, chefs, a night porter, maintenance assistant, and admin staff.
  • Manage daily operations including room lists, private events, and catering logistics.
  • Maintain excellent relationships with staff, encouraging feedback and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee both reactive and planned maintenance – from leaking taps to boiler breakdowns.
  • Coordinate with outsourced Health & Safety providers and ensure compliance (IOSH qualification preferred – training can be provided).
  • Be the go-to person for emergencies and staffing issues, including agency coordination and out-of-hours support.
  • Commission tradespeople and manage purchasing of cleaning and maintenance supplies.
  • Support ongoing property renovation projects and ensure contingency plans are in place.

Your Team Includes:

  • Head Chef
  • Head Gardener
  • Night Porter
  • 3 Housekeepers
  • Maintenance Assistant

What We're Looking For:

  • Strong man-management and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in hospitality, facilities, or estate management.
  • Ability to think on your feet and remain calm under pressure.
  • A flexible, can-do attitude – willing to roll up your sleeves when needed.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • IOSH qualification (or willingness to complete the course).

Why Join Us?

  • Be part of a supportive and collaborative team.
  • Work in a beautiful, fully operational estate with a rich variety of events and activities.
  • Opportunity to shape and improve standards across departments.
  • Training and development opportunities, including IOSH certification.
