Sustainability Engineer

Your new role
As a Sustainable Buildings Consultant, you play a crucial role in ensuring that buildings are socially, economically, and environmentally sustainable. Your expertise lies in understanding building and site-specific considerations, gathering accurate data, and making informed design decisions. Whether it's achieving NZEB (Nearly Zero Energy Building), LEED, or BREEAM certification, you contribute to creating sustainable systems that meet and exceed targets.

  • Energy Efficiency Analysis:

  • Conduct SBEM (Simplified Building Energy Model) calculations for Level 3, 4, and 5.

  • Perform SAP (Standard Assessment Procedure) calculations.

  • Prepare Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs).

  • Evaluate thermal comfort and daylighting.

  • Design Support:

  • Collaborate with architects and engineers to design low-energy buildings.

  • Apply passive building architecture principles.

  • Utilise renewable energy solutions.

  • Certification and Compliance:

  • Assist in achieving LEED Platinum, Gold Certification, and BREEAM Excellence awards.

  • Understand and meet certification requirements.

  • Life Cycle Costing:

  • Analyse life cycle costs related to sustainability measures.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Experience in sustainable building design and energy modelling.
  • Familiarity with ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System.
  • Experience in overheating assessment and need to be able to use IES VE and Auto Cad.
