As a well established, family owned business, our client is one of the UK's leading animal food manufacturers, catering for the country's top nine most popular animals including dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchillas, hamsters, gerbils, rats and ferrets.

Since being founded in the 1700's, they have gone from strength to strength, and their brand is now well respected, well recognised and multi-award winning.

The entire team has a real passion, commitment and expertise in pet care, and now they are looking for their next Sales Director to drive their growth plans throughout 2024 & beyond.

The Role:

We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic Sales Director who is passionate and rounded, with a proven track record of Sales Leadership, to join this fantastic business, with the main purpose being to accelerate the growth of revenues for the business.

The Director of Sales will create and deliver sales strategies, and play a crucial role in the

Organisation's success. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Working alongside Business Directors to maximise opportunities in the UK and international markets
  • Creating and implementing commercial plans and strategies to achieve profitable growth
  • Developing and implementing new customer acquisition strategies
  • Recruiting, training, developing and motivating a diverse team, and monitoring the performance of the Senior Sales teams by setting and reviewing goals
  • Identifying any training needs
  • Managing and tracking expenditures, financial goals, and budgets

The Candidate:

Being a credible, accountable individual is essential to be successful in this organisation however the ideal candidate will also possess the following attributes:

  • Minimum of 7 years' experience in a Senior Commercial role in FMCG
  • Hands-on experience in creating reports and managing budgets
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Strong organisational skills with exceptional time and capacity management ability
  • Experience in selling within international markets
  • Strong teamwork and influencing skills; the ability to collaborate with key internal stakeholders and departments to achieve objectives within tight time frames
