The Company

Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a leading independent planning practice based in Kent, recognized for delivering expert planning advice and innovative solutions across a broad spectrum of development projects.

My client are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Associate Town Planner to join our team. This role is ideal for a seasoned planner who is ready to take on more responsibility and contribute to the strategic direction of our projects and practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Management: Lead and manage a portfolio of complex planning projects, including residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Client Relations: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing expert planning advice, managing client expectations, and ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.
  • Planning Applications: Oversee the preparation and submission of planning applications, including coordinating technical reports, ensuring compliance with local and national planning policies.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor and manage junior planners, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities to help them grow within the practice.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Education: Degree in Town Planning, Urban Planning, or a related field. A master's degree is desirable.
  • Professional Accreditation: Chartered membership with the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) is essential.
  • Experience: Minimum of 6 years of experience in a planning role, with a proven track record in leading and delivering successful planning projects.
