IT Engineer

Arcas Technology is partnered with a leading Financial Institution based in London who are currently looking for an experienced IT Engineer to join their business on a permanent basis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary contact point for employees seeking IT support, ensuring prompt and effective assistance.
  • Support the development team with various database needs, including permissions, security measures, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Conduct initial evaluations, categorisation, research, and resolution of IT incidents and requests, while ensuring proper ticket management and prioritisation.
  • Coordinate with managed service providers and external support teams, following established processes for request fulfilment, incident management, and change management.
  • Oversee user management processes, including onboarding, offboarding, and internal transitions.
  • Assist team members with technical issues, including troubleshooting of hardware and software.
  • Manage and update the Asset Management Database, encompassing hardware, software, and cloud services.
  • Support routine system and software updates, patches, and upgrades as necessary.
  • Provide basic training and guidance to colleagues on software applications and tools.
  • Adhere to and enforce IT policies, procedures, and security standards.

Required Skills and Experience

  • At least 4 years of experience in an IT administration role, primarily office-based.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems, Office 365, and Microsoft Office suites.
  • Experience in administering SQL Server or other ETL systems.
  • Familiarity with AWS cloud services.
  • Relevant professional certifications, such as those from Microsoft or Oracle, are a plus.
  • Experience working with mobile devices, including phones and tablets.
  • Expertise in iOS configuration and support for Apple devices like iPhones, iPads, and MacBooks, along with experience with Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions.
  • Strong analytical abilities, capable of using research and reasoning to troubleshoot and solve IT issues.
  • A solid understanding of data protection and information security principles.
