SEN Teaching Assistant Early Years

**The Role:

Randstad Education is seeking a passionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support an early years team at a Primary School located in Manchester, working with children aged 2 to 5 years. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting children with special educational needs (SEN), ensuring they receive the personalised care and attention they need to succeed in a primary school setting.

This is a full time and long term position (8:30 until 15:30), available from the first week of September 2024.

**Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the early years team to create an inclusive learning environment.
  • Provide one-to-one support to children with SEN, adapting activities to meet their individual needs.
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of engaging and developmentally appropriate activities.
  • Monitor and record the progress of children, providing regular feedback to parents and the school team.
  • Foster a positive and nurturing atmosphere that promotes the well-being and development of all children.
  • Collaborate with external professionals, such as speech therapists and educational psychologists, to implement tailored support plans.

**Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in an early years setting is essential.
  • Proven experience supporting children with special educational needs.
  • A relevant qualification in childcare or education (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Childcare, Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A caring and patient attitude with a genuine passion for working with young children.
  • Knowledge of early childhood development and the EYFS framework.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
