Business Development Manager

Our client is a leading Healthcare Solutions company dedicated to distributing innovative healthcare products from across the Globe. As they continue to expand their presence, they are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to join their team.

As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for driving business growth and expanding their market presence. Your primary focus will be identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, and establishing strategic partnerships with new and existing manufacturers. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the company's growth trajectory.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct market research to identify potential clients, market trends, and competitive landscape within an existing or new product line or industry sector
  • Work with the senior management team to identify areas which are of interest for growth
  • Develop and implement effective business development strategies to drive revenue growth and achieve sales targets.
  • Identify and engage key decision-makers within target organisations, building strong relationships and understanding their needs.
  • Developing and managing relationships with new business partners and potential clients to generate new business opportunities
  • Identify new Manufacturers which complement the existing business structure or form the anchor for strategic development within the business and result in the launching of new products/brands to market
  • Prepare and deliver compelling presentations, proposals, and business cases to potential clients and for prospective pitches, showcasing the values of the company and its ability to develop brands/products in the Market.
  • Work closely with the Marketing team to develop strategic sales and marketing plans for the boarding of all new partnerships
  • Work with the Sales Management, company representatives and marketing team to ensure the successful onboarding of any new partnerships
  • Identify manufacturers within the marketplace whose current route to market is less than optimal or underperforming and who would benefit from the business expertise
  • Conducting research on target companies to determine their value as potential acquisitions and evaluate potential mergers and acquisitions based on financials and business fit
  • Identify potential bolt-ons which would complement the current portfolios
  • Responsible for revenue growth through ongoing business development within the company
  • Stay updated on industry developments, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes to provide strategic insights and recommendations.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to identify potential partnerships.
  • Monitor and analyse sales performance metrics, providing regular reports and insights to senior management.
  • Conduct accurate market analyses to determine the demand for products and services and identify opportunities for new/expand hospital programs and healthcare services

Previous Experience/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Life Sciences, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • Proven track record of success in business development within the clinical diagnostics industry or a related field.
  • In-depth knowledge of the clinical diagnostics market, including key players, industry trends, and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to identify and capitalise on market opportunities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Exceptional negotiation and presentation skills, with the ability to influence decision-makers.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel as required to meet clients and attend industry events.

Additional Information:

  • Please note this is a full-time, permanent role working Monday - Friday 9 am - 5 pm although flexibility is required for meetings and site visits.
  • Suitable candidates can be based anywhere in the UK with an expectation to visit clients as required and come to the office twice per month.
