Geography Teacher (Maternity Cover)

We are looking for a dedicated Geography Teacher to join Desborough College in Maidenhead for a maternity cover role. This full-time position is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a passion for geography and education, ready to inspire students from KS3 to KS5. While QTS is preferred, candidates with strong subject knowledge and teaching experience will also be considered.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Delivering Geography lessons across Key Stages 3 to 5 with a commitment to high standards of teaching and learning.
- Preparing lesson plans, materials, and resources that cater to different learning abilities within the classroom.
- Assessing and recording students' progress, preparing them for exams, and providing constructive feedback.
- Managing classroom behaviour and creating a positive, stimulating learning environment.
- Participating in departmental meetings, parent consultations, and school training events.
- Collaborating with colleagues to develop curriculum materials and integrate best practices in teaching.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- A degree in Geography or a related subject.
- QTS is preferred, but not essential for candidates with relevant experience.
- Strong knowledge of the Geography curriculum for KS3-5.
- Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.
- Ability to engage and motivate students.
- Commitment to professional development and learning.
