The Role: Project Administration Officer

The Education Project Officer will support the next phase in the delivery of the programme, offering an exciting opportunity for a self-starter who is passionate about education and the opportunity to make a difference to young people's futures.

Reporting directly to the Education Manager, the postholder will provide key support to the scholarships programme, from day-to-day administration to promote the scheme and manage the selection process, to liaising with programme scholars and alumni as well as programme partners, other key stakeholders and the Department for Education.

Key duties include:

  • Act as point of contact for the application and selection process, including dealing with initial enquiries, filtering applications and organising assessments and applicant interviews
  • Liaising with our network of assessors including allocating assessments, new/refresher training and processing invoices
  • Promoting the scholarship programme including social media, blogs, email campaigns, and organising/attending promotional events (online and in-person).
  • Assist in organising Welcome, CPD and Celebration events for successful scholars and programme alumni including in-person and online
  • Providing administrative support to the Management Group, including organising meetings, and preparing papers
  • Liaising with key stakeholders, including programme partners and the DfE, providing monthly reports and information as required
  • Supporting the programme's aims to encourage a more diverse and inclusive teaching community through targeted promotion and marketing activities

Duties and Responsibilities

Dealing enquiries

  • Act as point of contact for initial enquiries from schools and applicants
  • Respond to emails, telephone enquiries
  • Provide application pack and supporting documentation/information
  • Escalate more complex queries to Project Manager as required

Managing application and selection process

  • Acknowledge applications and filter
  • Log applications in database
  • Organise additional tests, where required
  • Organise assessment interviews including setting up online meeting links, monitoring connections, organising assessors and collecting and recording assessor decisions
  • Notify applicants of application outcome

The Package

  • One-year fixed contract (could possible be extended)
  • Salary £24,000
  • 35 hours per week 50/50 hybrid
  • Providing Laptop and mobile phone
  • May require some so weekend/evening events (time given in lieu)
