Job Responsibilities:

  • Teach British Sign Language (BSL) to learners at levels 1 and 3
  • Utilize the Total Communication approach to enhance understanding (e.g., using BSL, visual aids, communication in print).
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that cater to a variety of learning styles and levels
  • Prepare pupils for BSL examinations in Key Stage 4
  • Collaborate with other educators to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive curriculum.

Required Qualifications:

  • BSL Level 1 and/or Level 3 certification
  • Proven experience in teaching or working with deaf learners
  • Strong understanding of the Total Communication approach
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
