Job Responsibilities:
- Teach British Sign Language (BSL) to learners at levels 1 and 3
- Utilize the Total Communication approach to enhance understanding (e.g., using BSL, visual aids, communication in print).
- Develop and implement lesson plans that cater to a variety of learning styles and levels
- Prepare pupils for BSL examinations in Key Stage 4
- Collaborate with other educators to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive curriculum.
Required Qualifications:
- BSL Level 1 and/or Level 3 certification
- Proven experience in teaching or working with deaf learners
- Strong understanding of the Total Communication approach
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
