The Enfield SASS team provides advocacy and support to survivors of domestic and sexual abuse living in Enfield.

We are now looking for an Independent Domestic Violence Advocate to join our SASS team on a full-time, permanent basis, working 37.5 hours per week.

The Role

As an Independent Domestic Violence Advocate, you will provide a proactive service to survivors of domestic abuse (and other forms of VAWG) identified as being at high risk of imminent harm.

You will make first contact with victims and survivors across Enfield, providing short-term, high-quality case work support and representing their voices on behalf of the service at risk-focused meetings.

Building relationships with other teams and external services, you'll co-ordinate risk management support and ensure compliance with all legal and contractual requirements.

Additionally, you'll maintain accurate, confidential records and contribute to service user feedback and service development.

About You

To be considered as an Independent Domestic Violence Advocate, you will need:

  • Demonstrable experience of working with women affected by domestic and sexual abuse
  • Experience working with complex and multiple needs
  • Experience of attending multi-agency risk-focused meetings such as multiagency safeguarding meetings, MARAC or MAPPA
  • Experience working within safeguarding procedures
  • An excellent understanding of domestic abuse and its effects on women and children
  • An understanding of children's social care and care proceedings
  • The ability to manage own caseload
  • Strong crisis management skills
  • To hold, or be willing to complete, a CAADA / Safe Lives/Women's Aid IDVA or DAPA qualification
