Description
- You will be responsible for all aspects of accounting for and collecting rents, utilities and other payments
- Ensuring all charges are raised accurately
- Preparation of monthly Direct Debit collection files
- Processing journal adjustments to correct postings as required
- Executing the return of rental deposits to residents at the end of tenancies, making cash transfers and associated accounting postings
- Preparing weekly reconciliations
- ensure all payments received are accurately allocated and completing daily bank reconciliations to confirm completeness and accuracy of recording of cash received
- Preparing regular (daily/weekly) reporting on collection progress and actions being undertaken for any unpaid amounts
- follow up on unpaid charges by email, phone and directly
Profile
- We are looking for a highly organised individual who is adaptable to take on and move between a range of tasks and able to prioritise workload over the monthly billing and collection cycle.
- Proficient in Excel and confident using and developing systems to maintain efficient, standardised processes and accurate, timely reporting.
- You are experienced in accounting processes around raising income charges, allocating cash received and preparing bank reconciliations
- You are comfortable speaking to customers, and have previous experience of doing so.
- May be working towards an accountancy degree
- Experience in a similar role
