Cleaning Supervisor - Monks Cross Shopping Centre

Purpose of the Role

The Cleaning Supervisor is responsible for the cleaning of the Shopping Park & surrounding areas to maintain a safe and pleasant environment for our customers, through the monitoring of Health & Safety systems and the promotion of best practice throughout all tasks. The Cleaning Supervisor will also be responsible for the recruitment, training & general operations of all staff within this area.

Key Responsibilities

  • To ensure all Health & Safety policies and procedures are adhered to at all times.
  • To ensure all COSHH, SDS & SOPS documentation are kept in a safe and secure place in the cleaning store room & the management suite.
  • To ensure all cleaning compliance is kept in a safe and secure place in the management suite.
  • To be fully versed in workforce+ cleaning compliance and that of cleaning staff also have a general understanding.
  • Ensure the site is kept to a high standard of cleanliness and that standard operating procedures are being performed daily.
  • To prepare staff rotas and ensure that they are adhered to & updating line manager of any changes.
  • Request Agency cleaning staff (Labour) cover to the line manager in advance of any holidays that have been agreed.
  • Manage the initial training of Agency cleaning staff & to undertake a basic induction on there first day of cover.
  • Ensure the all areas of the site are kept clean and tidy & safe.
  • To manage the weekly stock control of all cleaning materials, tools and chemicals and inform line manager of additional stock needed.
  • To check/ sign for all deliveries of cleaning stock, equipment to site.
  • Escort Service / repair contractors on site when required.
  • Grit/salt public and staff areas/ assist with flood cleanup in extreme weather conditions.
  • Ensure the staff facilities/managers suite is kept clean.
  • To ensure that any damaged equipment/tools is reported immediately to the supplier & Line Manager.
  • To work along side security & support within the cleaning remit.
  • To carry out any other reasonable request by the Line Manager.
  • To carry out yearly or sooner training of cleaning operatives.
  • To carry out yearly appraisals of cleaning operatives
  • To carry out return to works interviews and documentation.
  • To understand the use of Data Station for reporting accidents in the workplace.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

Candidates will be required to demonstrate the following:

  • Manage & Support cleaning staff within the daily operations of the site.
  • Ensure a timely response to all issues and events.
  • Monitor and deliver the levels of customer satisfaction for service delivery expected at Workforce+.
  • To ensure that all compliance records are held, secured and updated as required.
  • Ensure all periodic cleaning tasks are carried out to the schedule.
  • Knowledge of IT systems inc timegate are kept to a competent level.
  • To take a proactive approach to continuous improvement and innovation in all aspects of the job
  • To ensure appropriate equipment is available for the cleaning team to carry out their role including training.

Essential

Working Hours - 34 hours

Salary - £11.72 ph
