About the Role:
Prospero Teaching is seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a Year 5 boy with Tourette's syndrome in Wythenshawe. This role will start in December 2024 and involves providing full-time support to help the student engage with his learning, manage his tics, and feel supported in the school environment. The ideal candidate will be someone with experience in SEN support who can remain calm and composed, especially when faced with inappropriate language or behaviour.
What You'll Bring:
Experience working with children with SEN, particularly with conditions such as Tourettes or similar needs.
A patient, resilient approach, able to maintain professionalism in challenging situations.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with school staff, parents, and external professionals.
A solid understanding of primary school routines and expectations.
Eligibility Requirements:
Right to Work in the UK
Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to apply for one)
Previous experience in a similar role is essential
