Job Title: Head of Fundraising
Location: Epsom, London - hybrid model with 2-3 days in the office and working from home
Contract: Permanent and full time - 37.5-hour week, Flexible working hours between 08.00 - 19.00 Monday - Friday
Salary: Salary £45K rising to £50K upon the successful completion of a 6-month probation

About the organisation

Look Good Feel Better is a national cancer charity devoted to delivering workshops that help people living with a cancer diagnosis to cope with the physical and emotional side effects of their treatment. Delivered by trained volunteers from the beauty industry, the free workshops offer practical advice about changes to skin and hair as well as supporting body confidence and well-being. Delivered in person at Cancer Care Centres and Hospitals across the UK as well as online, the workshops offer an invaluable opportunity to meet people in similar situations in a safe and inclusive space.

The Role

The charity is now embarking on a significant growth plan which will see a trebling in the number of beneficiaries supported (from 10,000 to 30,000 within four years). To allow the charity to deliver this plan, they are making substantial investment into the fundraising and communications team, this new role will be instrumental in assisting with the ambitious income growth. By 2028 the income should be reaching 3 million pounds.

Although you will be seeking to increase all areas of income, however, initially this role will focus on the management and development of the individual fundraising (regular giving, lottery, individual fundraising initiatives, digital fundraising, legacy, e-commerce, event and challenge event fundraising) and trust and foundation income streams. The Head of Fundraising will also assist and deputise for the Director of Fundraising and Communications in the day to day management of corporate fundraising.

Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the day-to-day management and development of the following income initiatives:

  • Individual Fundraising

  • Regular Giving

  • Challenge Event and Non-Challenge Event Fundraising

  • E-commerce Fundraising - Lottery, Online sale of Beauty Goodie Bags and Beauty Boxes, Online Shop, Online Raffles and Auctions, eBay Shop, Vinted and TikTok Shop

  • Development and implementation of:

  • Challenge Event Programme with Fundraising Officer

  • New 'Beauty industry focussed Fundraising Event

  • Workshop Fundraising Programme

  • Public Appeal Campaigns for new venue launches

  • High Value Individual Giving Programme

  • Legacy Fundraising Programme

  • Ensure delivery of the required donor care through effective stewardship strategy and mobilising support from the Communications and Marketing Team where appropriate

  • Line management of Fundraising Officer and Fundraising Administrator

  • Ensure the Fundraising Department is kept within budget.

  • Help drive the annual planning cycle and project management processes.

  • Supporting the Director of Fundraising & Communications with the annual budgeting process and development of the charity's fundraising strategy in line with our income growth plan.

About You

The person who gets this amazing job will need to have a growth mindset, a passion for the cause and be a strong leader with excellent communication and team building spirit

  • Demonstrable track record of strategic fundraising.
  • Successful, significant and relevant achievement at management level in a comparable organisation.
  • Experience of utilising the strength of an organisation brand for charity/business development.
  • Proven track record of meeting challenging income targets.
  • Proven ability to build, manage and develop key stakeholder, client and donor relationships.
  • Experience of developing and implementing strategic and business plans.
  • Proven track record in fundraising.
