Are you a qualified or part qualified accountant who would like to work for a fast-paced and diverse business in the heart of Essex?
With a large amount of subsidiary company accounts to oversee, our client is looking for broad experience and lots of initiative; someone who is proactive and organised. This newly created role as Financial Controller would have responsibility for one of their largest entities that sits within the construction/property development sector.
This newest addition to the finance team will work closely with other members of the team, and other stakeholders across the business.
They are an energetic and dynamic business, and they are looking for a passionate individual with a keen eye for detail to the join them.
Working within a vibrant and supportive team, your duties will include:
- Signing off bank reconciliations and review postings for producing management accounts
- Intercompany reconciliations
- VAT returns
- Hotel month end postings and reports
- Balance sheet reconciliations for hotel companies, and review of other quarterly balance sheet reconciliations
- Financial analysis on various build projects
- Cash flow management
- Payroll
- Leading the group budget preparation and analysis
- Assisting with year end statutory accounts, and liaising with auditors
- Improvement of systems and procedures, and initiative corrective actions
Further skills/qualifications required:
- Qualified Accountant or Part Qualified (or QBE with relevant construction experience)
- SME experience
- Intermediate/advanced MS Excel skills (pivot tables, vlookups)
- Strong team player with excellent organisational skills
- Commercial acumen
