Project Manager - Civil Engineering

**Role Overview

The Project Manager (Civil Engineer) will manage a variety of civil engineering projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. This role involves collaborating with team members, forming strong relationships with customers, and serving as a primary point of contact for various stakeholders. The position is hybrid, with approximately three days per week in the office and two days working from home.

**Key Responsibilities

  • Project Management: Oversee the full project lifecycle, managing multiple projects simultaneously, and ensuring timely, high-quality, and budget-compliant completion.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Act as a key contact for public members, site managers, customers, and other stakeholders throughout the contract duration.
  • Problem Solving: Identify and address issues early in the project to implement effective solutions.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Manage the preparation of RAMS (Risk Assessment Method Statements) and other project documents, ensuring health, safety, and environmental compliance, including necessary permits and licenses.
  • Team Coordination: Oversee and support supervisors, ensuring adherence to job specifications and project progress, while liaising with management and coordinating site logistics.
  • Financial Management: Control and monitor forecast costs, produce and manage resource programs, site diaries, and variations, and handle applications for payment.
  • Subcontractor Management: Assess and engage subcontractors, providing advice on methods, tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Client Interaction: Liaise with clients and management, make site and client visits, confirm project scope, and issue early warning notices.
  • Continuous Improvement: Recommend improvements in methods and procedures to enhance the contracting process.

This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional with strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, capable of managing complex civil engineering projects and ensuring stakeholder satisfaction.
