Group Financial Controller - Mid Cornwall - £60-80,000

We don't have a job specification for this role. Why? Because, working closely with the CEO, designing the scope of this role will be one of the first jobs for the successful candidate. It's a new position - a completely blank canvas, and one that works with one of the fastest growing groups of manufacturing services businesses in Cornwall.

We took our brief from the CEO whose enthusiasm and passion for the business is infectious. It's this attitude that has helped shape one of the most notable and respected businesses operating in this sector. They've tasked us with sourcing an impressive Group Financial Controller who will share the CEO's vision and help to take the business to another level. And it's not just the business that's growing; this role is likely to develop to Finance Director - sooner rather than later.

The group is made up of a number of highly successful business units amounting to an impressive group turnover and year-on-year profit. Whilst the company is equally involved in European export as it is UK based trade, it's proven itself to be robust and future proof. So, without a spec, what profile of Financial Controller are we looking for:

The Group FC will report to the CEO and take an immediate seat at senior management level, essentially assuming the role of operational finance number-one. The successful candidate will lead a medium sized finance team and work very closely with colleagues based across 3-4 often complex business entities. This person will have an exceptional relationship with major external stakeholders and high value clients. It's a role that balances strategic, commercial and day-to-day financial control of a high turnover business. The Group FC will be a known face on the manufacturing floor, educating and leading non-finance staff on costing implications, developing and implementing new ideas to streamline and improve functions across the business inside and outside of finance.

For this opportunity we're looking for a high calibre professionally qualified individual - ACA, ACCA or CIMA. Previous experienced gained in manufacturing, fast paced services or a relatable industry and with a sound understand of costings and product logistics is essential, with strong systems and consolidation accounts knowledge highly desirable. Strong people management skills, the ability to communicate effectively across multiple departments and with external stakeholders will be requisite. Most importantly, we're searching for a super-dynamic, forward thinker with a problem-solving attitude: Somebody that wants to make things better, that wants to see things grow, and somebody that wants to develop a long-term career with a highly motivated SMT.

Curious? We hope so. For further details and to apply to this interesting proposition, please contact Dan Saunders or Alex Callister quoting reference DS10028 for a confidential chat.
