We are seeking a dedicated Geography Teacher to join a secondary school in Rochdale. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about Humanities - Geography and is eager to make a significant impact on students' academic and personal growth.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Deliver engaging and informative Geography lessons to students at KS3 and KS4 levels; KS5 teaching experience would be advantageous.
  • Utilise strong subject knowledge to inspire and motivate students.
  • Maintain effective classroom management and discipline.
  • Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching practices and academic standards.
  • Participate in and organise extracurricular activities such as clubs, social activities, and educational visits.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Must hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Degree level qualification in Geography or a related subject.
  • Recent and relevant experience teaching Geography at KS3 and KS4; KS5 is desirable.
  • Excellent classroom management skills and subject knowledge.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire trust and confidence in students and colleagues.
  • Commitment to professional development and a willingness to learn.
  • A strong ethos of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
