Property Inspector Mechanical

Are you looking for a new Property Inspector role that can see you make a difference in your community?

Our Falkirk based client are currently looking for a Property Inspector (Mechanical) to join their team on a contract basis until the end of March 2025. You will be responsible for inspections, repairs and minor planned works of all mechanical elements of the company portfolio and provide high quality inspection and maintenance in line with current compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out response led and regular inspections of premises to determine work requirement, priorities and costs, reporting to the Senior Inspector. Any necessary repair works to be carried out as a part of the planned or non-planned maintenance programme.
  • Carry out a written annual inspection (along with recommendations) of mechanical services for properties,
  • Respond to emergency requests for necessary mechanical repair work to be carried out and arrange for appropriate remedial action to be taken to make safe the repair. A formal standby scheme is in operation to cover out of hours emergencies and repairs.
  • Issue detailed repair instructions to both internal and external contractors, check, agree and verify submitted invoices prior to payment
  • Supervise the standard and timely completion of repair work and minor projects carried out ensuring that remedial action is taken where appropriate to ensure value for money, quality and best practice.

  • To liaise with premise managers, translate their requirements or requests and discuss repair work, minor planned budgets in relation to relevant Term Contracts and other relevant issues that affect the mechanical services of a non-housing premise.
  • Provide a mechanical monitoring and inspection role on capital projects which will be allocated to you, all in accordance with capital project procedures.

Key Applicant Requirements

  • Qualifications: Required to possess an appropriate construction/service related HNC or equivalent.
  • Experience: Required to have a minimum 5 years experience of the mechanical services industry within the commercial services sector, preferably practical site experience.
  • Gas safe registration
  • Good communication and negotiating skills.
  • Membership of a relevant trade body (desirable)
  • Corporate membership (desirable)
  • An understanding of how to use CAD software particularly to review drawn information and specifications. (desirable)

This role comes with a salary range of £31,000 - £34,500 and will require you to be able to travel within the local area.
