Assistant Communications Officer

Grade 4, £24,294 up to £27,334 per annum pro rata

37 hours per week, 12-month fixed term contract

Are you looking to start your career in communications or thinking about a new challenge?

We're looking for a highly motivated, creative individual to join our small and busy communications team on a 12-month fixed contract.

We've created a new role of Assistant Communications Officer for someone who has a flair for writing clear, interesting copy for all of our communication channels.

Excellent organisation and verbal communication skills will also be essential. The perfect candidate will be able to write engaging copy for newsletters, collate information for media enquiries, and create and monitor content for our social media profiles.

If the role is for you, you will also need to monitor and evaluate our communications and suggest fresh ideas. You will be able to demonstrate knowledge of a wide range of communication channels and tools.

The ability to quickly understand and interpret information and work using your own initiative, while working under pressure and to deadline, is essential. You'll also need to be able to demonstrate political awareness, confidentiality, tact and diplomacy.

You may be required to attend evening events or meetings occasionally, with notice.

We operate a ‘hybrid working' model with a mix of office based, home and remote working available when suitable. The contractual base will be office based with agreed flexibility to work from home or at remote working locations in the borough.

Closing date: Tuesday 25 June 2024

Interview date: Wednesday 3 July 2024

We welcome applications from all of the community.

Benefits include flexible working options, generous pension scheme and annual leave plus bank holidays.

Reasonable workplace adjustments are considered for all roles.
