Finance Manager

A thriving SME construction company based in Sutton is seeking a dynamic Finance Manager to join their team. The ideal candidate will be Part Qualified, Fully Qualified, or Qualified By Experience, with a background in the construction industry. This role is pivotal in supporting the company's growth, requiring a proactive attitude and the ability to manage financial operations effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the financial health of the company, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Manage all aspects of the company's finances, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cash flow.
- Ensure compliance with construction industry schemes (CIS) and maintain accurate records for subcontractor payments and deductions.
- Utilise Xero accounting software to maintain financial records and provide insightful reports to support strategic decision-making.
- Collaborate with senior management to identify financial opportunities and areas for improvement.
- Prepare monthly management accounts and year-end financial statements.
- Liaise with external auditors, accountants, and tax advisors to ensure compliance with all statutory requirements.
- Implement and maintain robust financial controls and procedures.
- Lead and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a finance role within the construction industry.
- Part Qualified, Fully Qualified (ACCA, CIMA, ACA), or Qualified By Experience.
- Strong working knowledge of Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) regulations.
- Proficiency in Xero accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership capabilities and the ability to work collaboratively.
- A proactive approach to work and the ability to drive change.
