A thriving SME construction company based in Sutton is seeking a dynamic Finance Manager to join their team. The ideal candidate will be Part Qualified, Fully Qualified, or Qualified By Experience, with a background in the construction industry. This role is pivotal in supporting the company's growth, requiring a proactive attitude and the ability to manage financial operations effectively.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the financial health of the company, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
  • Manage all aspects of the company's finances, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cash flow.
  • Ensure compliance with construction industry schemes (CIS) and maintain accurate records for subcontractor payments and deductions.
  • Utilise Xero accounting software to maintain financial records and provide insightful reports to support strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate with senior management to identify financial opportunities and areas for improvement.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and year-end financial statements.
  • Liaise with external auditors, accountants, and tax advisors to ensure compliance with all statutory requirements.
  • Implement and maintain robust financial controls and procedures.
  • Lead and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a finance role within the construction industry.
  • Part Qualified, Fully Qualified (ACCA, CIMA, ACA), or Qualified By Experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) regulations.
  • Proficiency in Xero accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership capabilities and the ability to work collaboratively.
  • A proactive approach to work and the ability to drive change.
