Group Payroll Manager

The MSC Group employs over 1000 UK based employees across multiple entities and have significant growth planned. In order to effectively support this growth, we are now looking for a new designated Payroll Manager to join the HR team to support and manage the continuation of delivering a first class payroll operation across all entities.
The successful applicant will take overall responsibility for this process whilst utilising specialist knowledge and experience to drive process improvements and partnering with the Finance department to drive a fully compliant and seamless payroll.

Skills and experience you'll bring to us
- Previous experience of managing a large scale, complex payroll process is essential
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience of payroll processes including Year End procedures, PAYE, NIC and statutory payments/reporting
- Payroll or taxation related qualification i.e. CIPP or AAT or equivalent experience
- Strong IT and data analytical skills are essential
- Ability to adapt and react positively to change
- Excellent Interpersonal, communication and influencing skills.
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent numeracy and literacy skills, with a sound knowledge of Microsoft packages.
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to effectively multitask in an often reactive environment.
- A high level of professionalism and confidentiality
How you will help us and what you can expect
- Take full responsibility for monthly end to end payroll processing across multiple entities
- Subject matter expert for payroll legislation and regulations, ensuring full compliance across the Group payroll services including HMRC, Auto Enrolment, Gender Pay Gap, pension reporting etc
- Provide regular and accurate reporting on headcount and payroll costings, in line with agreed deadlines stipulated by Financial and Global requirements
- Identify and implement process improvements within the payroll offering to ensure the service continues to be accurate and compliant in all areas.
- Partner closely with the Finance team to ensure alignment on reporting and adherence to Financial reporting deadlines
- Work closely with the Group People Services Manager on the production of relatable data reporting requirements of people KPI's, ensuring all employee data is captured to feed into the payroll cycle
